The drving force in my life is education. As researcher, project innovator, author and public speaker, my goal is to empower children and young people for the challenges ahead, and to get schools, families and policy makers thinking about the societal impact of technology more constructively. Born in Australia, I'm a French national based in Luxembourg, and work with governments, institutions and universities across the world. A career highlight is the creation of Safer Internet Day
(in 2003), celebrated every February by a half million people in 130 countries. Currently I am Senior Advisor to organisations in Belgium and Italy, sit on various safety and ethical advisory boards (Facebook; UNICEF; Council of Europe's Digital Citizenship Education working group; a Free University of Brussels project on robotics and machine learning…), and work with governments on child protection in the MENA region.
